Our global pandemic and climate emergency ask: How will you change? What will you choose to do? #PH2020, embraces these tough fundamental questions and provides you with actionable answers. You’ll get the framework for making system switches from best selling author Dan Heath. You’ll achieve clarity about the role of Passive House, in conversation with building developers who’ve done it. You’ll learn the inside story from industry leaders, including from Passive House Institute research scientists. And you’ll discover opportunities to leverage changing public policies, consumer awareness, and industry competence, to make built environments that support the business and life goals most meaningful to you. Join the conversation.

Join us at this live virtual co-creation event.

Participants from across the country will exchange ideas about opportunities to create change, discuss promising developments, and explore solutions through connection, learning and delving into alternative futures for chapters.

Our panelists will run the discussion. As the session video plays, a chat will run simultaneously, where attendees will be sharing their own experiences and giving you the option to flesh out your ideas in a meaningful and practical way. This is a co-creation event, which means we’ll be gathering insights from the ensuing discussion and turning them into an actionable resource for all attendees to take away with them. After the event, all participants will receive an eBook, capturing the collective knowledge shared during the event from both the speakers and attendees alike.

Who is putting on this event?

The North American Passive House Network (NAPHN) is proud to be hosting this event, its 7th annual national conference.

NAPHN is an independent national non-profit educational organization, based in New York, affiliated with the International Passive House Association (iPHA) and the Passive House Institute (PHI), located in Darmstadt, Germany.

NAPHN supports the widespread adoption of the international Passive House design and construction standards, building science principles and protocols, as a critical response to our climate crisis – providing unparalleled effectiveness in mitigating climate disruptions and adapting to rapidly changing environmental conditions.

NAPHN is focused on the inflection point between policy and implementation. What is the format of the conference?

This event is from 1:00-4:00 EST on Wednesday, June 24, and on every Wednesday after, concluding on Wednesday, July 29. The session is an hour long and is prerecorded. Prerecording allows the speakers to spend the entire session period in conversation with the attendees in chat, answering your burning questions.

Where is this event located?

This conference exists in the virtual space, as it gives us the opportunity to bring together professionals from around the world.

How can I ask speakers questions during the event?

The session is pre-recorded so that the speakers can spend the time answering attendee questions. They will be typing furiously to reply to as many questions as possible in the live chat!

Will there be opportunities to communicate with the speakers after their specific sessions?

This will depend on individual preference of our speakers.

Can I communicate with other participants?

Absolutely! Throughout the session, there will be a live chat running simultaneously.

Is the event worth Continuing Education credits?

AIA has approved live attendance of NAPHN’s conference for LUs and some HSWs. PHI has also approved the conference for 24 PHI credits.
