Construction Ahead!
Building a safer future for teen drivers today!
We have gathered a group of experts in the field of traffic safety that represent state-level and national organizations. They will use personal stories and share programs and resources, as well as the latest statistics on the issues that affect young drivers and their peers. Please join us as we hear from a wide range of experience in what works and ways to detour your current traffic safety work to fit this climate.
Participants will have an opportunity to talk with our panel of experts with a Question-and-Answer session immediately following.
Impact Teen Drivers: engaging, educating, and empowering teens to be the change
Dr. Kelly K. Browning, from Impact Teen Drivers, will deliver an address that will engage, educate, and empower participants to make safer choices every single ride. Her address will highlight the important roles of both drivers and passengers through the lens of positive community norming. Additionally, Dr. Browning will speak on peer-to-peer messaging to help reduce serious injury and fatality rates for teen drivers and teen passengers.
Design Session
This interactive design session led by Impact Teen Drivers will introduce youth to a contest in which they can enter social media posts for a chance to win $10,000. They will be walked through the requirements and then split into groups to work on developing their ideas. At the end of the session, prizes will be given. This will be a fun and exciting way to bring the message of traffic safety back to their communities with a chance to win cash.
