Writing to Win Federal Grants: A Crash Course
If you have written a foundation or corporate proposal, but feel overwhelmed in tackling a federal grant, this session is for you! Led by federal grant experts, Cheryl Kester and Karen Cassidy, this session will paint a clear picture of how federal grants differ from foundation grants and how to begin building your skills to succeed in the federal funding arena. This training will touch on the differences in key sections (i.e., need, methodology, evaluation, and budget). We will also discuss organizational preparedness and how to find federal funding opportunities. You’ll leave with a better idea of where to start and a federal grants readiness checklist to help get your organization ready. If you are a successful grant professional, you can be successful at federal grants. Come learn how.
Let's Get R.E.A.L: Grant Professionals as DEI Leaders
Are you curious how Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) intersects with your work? Join 5 grant professionals as we highlight the need for DEI through the R.E.A.L. framework, the change-making power of equitable storytelling, and answers to common DEI application questions.
Incorporating Sustainable Development Goals into Proposals
In this session we will explore the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals and the importance of including them in your proposal development, as appropriate. Understanding what they are, why they are important, and how they apply to your organization’s mission, goals, and objectives, can help you write a stronger proposal. In addition, you will gain some insight on how other organizations use SDGs to win grants from funders around the world.
This session covers the following GPCI competencies:
3. Knowledge of Strategies for effective program and project design and development
4. Knowledge of how to craft, construct, and submit an effective grant application
7. Knowledge of practices and services that raise the level of professionalism of grant professionals
8. Knowledge of methods and strategies that cultivate and maintain relationships between fund-seeking and recipient organizations and funders
Coping During Times of COVID
What does it look like to practice self-care when you feel like you don’t even have time to get a glass of water? How do you continue prioritizing your well-being a year into a pandemic with other stressors compounding? Join Tara Davis, Director of Internal Communications & Staff Well-Being and Engagement at the American Psychological Association, for a webinar on how to manage your stress and practice self-care during difficult and uncertain times, as well as ways to cultivate your own well-being in the midst of caring for others around you. Tara will focus on small things we can do daily—that won’t magically fix everything—but can make life a bit more hopeful and manageable. Tara will share psychological research on healthy coping strategies, as well as practical tips and resources for taking care of yourself during trying and uncertain times. We hope you will join us for this opportunity to improve your well-being
