A. Sherrod Blakely wears a number of hats these days. He is the Chair of the NABJ Sports Task Force as well as Chair of the APSE Diversity Committee. Sherrod is also an NBA writer for Bleacher Report, Lecturer in Boston University’s College of Communication and the creator and co-host of the A-List Podcast. Sherrod also writes a weekly column for Ebony.com and co-hosts two post-game internet shows. Sherrod spent 11 years as the Boston Celtics Insider for NBC Sports Boston and was the winner of Boston.com’s A-List Celtics Reporter of the Year award in 2011. This past spring, an interview by Sherrod with Justin Tatum, the father of NBA star Jayson Tatum, was nominated for an Emmy. Prior to Boston, Sherrod covered the Detroit Pistons for the award-winning Mlive.com website, and earlier was a beat writer focused on ACC football and men’s basketball for the Raleigh (N.C.) News & Observer.
