Alexis Popa

Alexis began working at JAN as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2018, became an employment specialist in December 2019, and was promoted to a consultant on the cognitive/neurological team in June 2020. As a consultant, Alexis fields questions from employees and employers regarding their rights and responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and assists in identifying accommodation solutions for employees with cognitive and mental health conditions. Alexis earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology with a minor in Human Services and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from West Virginia University (WVU). Alexis has also spent time being an advocate and working within the community. She spent this time providing individual and group therapy, educating and supporting families and caretakers of those with disabilities, advocating for client rights, and providing crisis intervention.
