Amanda McGrory
Digital Archivist, Paralympian & Team USA Athlete
Amanda McGrory is a three-time Paralympian (2008 Beijing, 2012 London, 2016 Rio) and seven-time Paralympic medalist, as well as a past winner of the Chicago, New York, London and Tokyo Marathons. McGrory attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2004-2010 on an athletic scholarship, before pursuing a full-time career as a professional wheelchair marathoner. She returned to school in 2016 while training for the Rio Paralympic Games as a graduate student in Library and Information Sciences. She completed her MSLIS in 2018, and interned at the USOPC in the Crawford Family Archives for seven months before returning to Champaign, Illinois to resume training for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.
