Arlene Hogan

Head of School
Bentley School

Arlene Hogan arrived in San Francisco in 1984 to Head the Hamlin School. Following her thirteen year tenure, she was named Founding Head of The Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles. During her decade-long appointment, she led the school through its first CAIS/WASC Accreditation and moved Archer to its permanent home in Brentwood. She joined the Bentley School as a consultant and then Head of School in 2007. In addition to three challenging headships, Arlene was one of three Heads of Schools who founded the now globally recognized National Association of Girls Schools. She served on the CAIS Board of Trustees for six years, with two years as Board President and has enjoyed trusteeships at five CAIS independent schools and the San Francisco Exploratorium.
