Candace Anderson

Candace Anderson is Vice President of People and Culture at The E.W. Scripps Company. In this role, she oversees teams that directly impact the Scripps employee experience, from learning and leadership development to talent acquisition and total rewards, which include benefits and compensation. Candace also has led major initiatives to create an equitable workplace, including overseeing EDI training for Scripps’ 61 TV stations and partners with the Scripps’ chief diversity officer and other leaders around the company to uphold its EDI strategies. Candace has held a number of human resource executive roles during her more than 20 years at Scripps, most recently as Vice President of Human Resources for the company’s Local Media Division. In this capacity, she oversaw human resources strategy and execution and led acquisition-related HR integration for the media company, which has completed two major spinoffs and a number of major acquisitions since 2008. She determines cultural direction and facilitates its adoption and sets company strategy for employee attraction, retention, learning and development. She has conceptualized and led implementation of strategic talent development programs for Scripps, including executive leadership development and high potential talent growth focused on design thinking.
