Cathy Shelburne 2022

Cathy has served on nonprofit boards and she holds a BoardSource Certificate of Nonprofit Board Consulting. As Director of Professional Learning at the California Association of Independent Schools, Cathy brings over 30 years of experience as a teacher, administrator, and trustee in both day and boarding schools, with particular expertise in leadership and governance. In addition to developing and executing professional learning events, Cathy builds the association’s capacity and networks, interacting with industry leaders in the broader independent school community, including CAIS partners, member schools, and peer associations. Cathy is an Evidence Based Graduate Level Educated executive coach whose clients include independent school leaders from across the country. Cathy’s adult daughters attended six independent day and boarding schools, and her husband is an independent school leader.
