Chastity Pratt is The Wall Street Journal’s first-ever Education Bureau Chief for US News. She joined the Journal after spending the 2019-20 school year as a fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard. At Harvard, she researched school funding policies and taught a basic journalism class. Chastity previously was the urban affairs reporter at Bridge Magazine, an online political news outlet in Michigan. Chastity calls herself an “urban education know-it-all” after 15 years of covering education at the Detroit Free Press, Newsday and The Oregonian. She’s a native Detroiter and a graduate of the University of Michigan.
