Danyelle S.T. Wright, 50, is Vice President of Employment and Labor Law, and Chief Diversity Officer for The E.W. Scripps Company. Danyelle leads Scripps’ enterprise-wide diversity and inclusion strategies. She works closely with the company’s human resources leadership to bring these strategies to life and provides guidance to the company’s senior management on employment and labor practices. Before joining Scripps in 2015, Danyelle served as partner with a Dayton, Ohio-based law firm. She received her bachelor’s degree in government and Africana studies from Cornell University and her doctorate in law from The Ohio State University. A native of Dayton, Ohio, Danyelle is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., The Links, Incorporated and Jack & Jill of America. She is a member of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber’s Leadership Cincinnati Class 41, WE Lead Class 11, and serves on the boards of The Cincinnati Parks Foundation, The Health Collaborative, and the Dayton Art Institute. Danyelle has received many professional honors, including the Ohio State Bar Foundation Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under in 2009, the Diversity & Inclusion Trailblazers award in 2019 from the Taft firm, and the Gracies Leadership Award in 2019 presented by The Alliance for Women in Media, among others.
