Darrion Cockrell

Darrion Cockrell, the 2021 Missouri Teacher of the Year, is an Elementary Physical Education and Health teacher in St. Louis, MO at Crestwood Elementary School. Darrion considers his greatest teaching accomplishment to be building trust and making connections with families while also changing the school’s culture to “Crest-Fit”–making healthier choices and staying physically active with your family. Darrion is married to Kimberly Cockrell (Nurse Practitioner) and they have a handsome 3-year-old son named Dawson.
