Denise James

Denise James is a journalist, multimedia content producer and teacher. Her journalism career began in Detroit, at WGPR, the nation’s first Black-owned television station. While working at several TV stations, including Action News in Philadelphia, she developed a reputation for thorough, creative, inclusive coverage that challenges systemic bias and reflects marginalized people’s truths in empowering ways. She coaches professional broadcasters and teaches at Temple University, nurturing new generations of journalists. She is a Love Now Media editor, a PhillyCAM board member and Denise James Media chief strategist. Denise works in the public trust. She is a member of NABJ, PABJ and ONA.
