Denise Royal is a producer with the newly-relaunched Black News Channel. Denise’s position allows her to use her vast experience to help bring structure and editorial consistency to the network and curate content that connects with the network’s niche audience. Denise is known for her keen journalistic instincts and ethics. She got her start as a field producer at WOKR in Rochester, New York. From there, she worked as a field producer at ABC News before helping to launch MSNBC. Before joining BNC, Denise spent more than a decade producing for several South Florida stations, including WLRN, WPBT, and WTVJ in Miami. Her broadcast experience includes writing and producing for CNN, NBC’s The Today Show, Weekend Today, and Weekend Nightly News. A New York native, Denise is a graduate of the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. A lifetime learner, Denise received her Master’s Degree in Mass Communication from Lynn University. When she’s not working, Denise and her husband Tony travel the world, taking photos and collecting souvenirs to complete their ever-expanding extensive collection of Michael Jackson memorabilia.
