Dr. Autumn Caviness

Autumn Caviness is a recent Ph.D. graduate of the School of Journalism and Media at The University of Texas at Austin. Employing quantitative content analysis and qualitative interviews, Autumn’s research explores the career perspectives of Black women journalists through the lens of their Blackness. Autumn received a Master of Arts in Radio, Television, Film from The University of Texas at Austin and both her Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Texas A&M University. Autumn currently serves as an advisory board member for the Austin Area Urban League Tech and Career Academy. She is a recipient of the Texas Women in Higher Education Leadership Grant and has been recognized as Faculty Member of the Year for Huston-Tillotson University’s Adult Degree Program.
