Jarvis DeBerry

Jarvis DeBerry is editor-in-chief at the Louisiana Illuminator, a non-profit, non-partisan newsroom that’s a part of the States Newsroom network. DeBerry spent 22 years at The Times-Picayune in New Orleans, the majority of that time as an editorial writer and columnist. He was a part of the Times-Picayune team that won the Pulitzer Prize for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath and has also won awards for column writing from the Associated Press, the New Orleans Press Club and the NABJ.
