Jennie Joseph, a British-trained midwife, fights so every person has their healthiest possible pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. She created The JJ Way,® an evidence-based, maternity care model delivering accessible, patient-centered, culturally-congruent care in materno-toxic zones. She is Executive Director of Commonsense Childbirth Inc., and founded the National Perinatal Task Force. Her Commonsense Childbirth School of Midwifery is the first and only privately-owned, nationally-accredited midwifery school owned by a Black woman in the U.S. Jennie founded The Council of Midwifery Elders, serves on the Advisory Council for the Congressional Black Maternal Health Caucus and is an Aspen Institute Fellow.
