Jennifer Thomas

Jennifer C. Thomas is an associate professor and journalism sequence coordinator in the Department of Media, Journalism and Film at her alma mater, Howard University. She is the 2019 Scripps Howard Foundation/AEJMC Teacher of the Year. An award-winning broadcast journalist with more than 20 years of experience, she is a former Executive Producer with CNN, and was its 9 a.m. show producer during the September 11 Terror Attacks. She earned her M.A. in Journalism from Columbia University, and is founder of MediaReady Consulting, LLC, which specializes in media training. A 2020 Fulbright Specialist awardee, she speaks internationally on media freedom issues.
