Jim has served a wide variety of Fortune 1000 companies and Private Equity firms during his tenure. Mr. Durkin has also been integral in the development of The Martec Group’s Emotion Intelligence offering, which is comprised of a set of tools and algorithms that identify, characterize and quantify the emotional connections that individuals have with brands, products and decision processes.
He is an alumnus of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and is involved as an investor and advisory board member in businesses ranging from banking and private equity investing to food/beverage production and wholesale distribution.
Jim is currently an alumni board member and past President of the Board of Directors at CommunityHealth, recognized since 2015 as the largest free clinic in the United States. He is also a board member and past President of the Chicago 502, an organization that supports active soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division, US Army, and their families.
Jim received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in 1982. Jim is a member of the Alpha Delta chapter of Theta Chi fraternity and served as its President in 1980-81.
Jim and his wife Laura have twin daughters, Gabi and Stefi, and live in Evanston, IL.
