James M. Marquardt

Jim’s career in heavy construction started in 1971 for Washington, D.C. Metro (WMATA). At 28 he was named Project Manager for a WSSC Water Tunnel project in Chevy Chase, MD., for Gates & Fox Co., Inc. He joined J.F. Shea Co., Inc. in 1987 and has been involved in water and rail tunnel projects and subway projects in New York and Los Angeles, Massachusetts, and Denmark. Jim has been the Eastern Area Tunnel Division Manager for J.F. Shea from 2008 to present. Jim served on the RETC Executive Committee and was Chairman for the 2009 conference. He received the Golden Beaver Award for Supervision, the Moles Member Award in 2020, and the UCA Award for Outstanding Individual in 2012. Jim is a Past President of Moles 2015-2016.
