Kathy Layendecker 2022

Kathy Layendecker is the Associate Head of School for Finance and Operations at Castilleja School which she joined in 2014. She has worked in independent school education since 2005, serving as Chief Financial Officer, Associate Head of School, and Interim Head of School at Oregon Episcopal School in Portland, Oregon and as Head of School at Shattuck-St Mary’s School in Faribault, Minnesota. She has also worked in the private sector as an investment banker at First Boston and Goldman Sachs, as a strategist for Harcourt General, and as a founding employee of IGN Entertainment. Kathy currently serves on the Boards of The Carey School, and Avenidas, and is the Board President for the Independent Business Officers Association of California (Cal-ISBOA). Prior board service includes the National Business Officers Association (NBOA), the Association of Independent School Admission Professionals (AISAP), and Pacific University’s Endowment Investment Committee. Kathy holds an M.B.A. from Yale School of Management and an A.B. in English from Stanford University.
