Katie Peinovich

Katie Peinovich is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of experience working in criminal justice, school and community-based settings providing clinical care to children affected by complex trauma. Ms. Peinovich graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received an MSW from the Columbia University School of Social Work. Ms. Peinovich has completed post-graduate training at The Ackerman Institute for the Family, the Beck Institute, and Columbia University School of Social Work. Currently Ms. Peinovich works at the Child Mind Institute as a Community Clinician providing evidence-based trauma treatment to children in the New York City public schools, and working with parents, teachers and school administrators to deepen their understanding of childhood trauma, its impact, and how to connect affected children with high quality care. Ms. Peinovich is passionate about education equity and views access to high quality mental health care for children and mental health information for parents and educators as an important stepping stone to reaching equity.
