LaNese Harris

With over 20 years of extensive industry experience, award-winning multi-platform journalist LaNese Harris is what many colleagues call an alchemist of broadcasting. Her innate ability as a journalist to combine passion and creativity to connect with broad audiences has garnered her multiple network Emmys, Peabodys, and DuPont awards throughout the decades. After working 20 years at CNN and more than four years at CBS’s Face the Nation, Harris knew it was time to give back and take her extensive expertise to public media in her native hometown of Atlanta. Harris is the Director of Television and Technology for the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Communications – City Channel 26/ATL26. During her tenure, she’s transformed the channel’s audience and demographics, editorial content, and has taken the local network’s reach to national status. Harris’ experience includes technical project management, strategic planning, live news and event production, streaming, content branding, field producing, and crafting visually compelling news and feature packages for multiple digital platforms while protecting stakeholders’ interest and budget management. Well-known for her love to travel, she enjoys photography, scuba diving and music. Harris is an active member of Women in Film and Video, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the National Association of Black Journalists. Harris is a graduate of Florida A&M University, where she received a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism.
