Margaret Watson

Springfield CTA

Margaret Watson utilized her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education to teach preschool and to substitute for ten years while her husband served full time in the Army. After leaving the military and moving to Springfield in 1994, she began teaching Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) full time for Springfield Public Schools until 2001 when she relied on her master’s degree in Gifted Education to teach a year of third graders in our district’s gifted program. The following year, she moved to the assessment team for ECSE where she continues to work as an Educational Diagnostician and case manager for the district’s youngest learners. Margaret has served her local CTA on the executive board, as Vice President, President, and Secretary/Treasurer. She has also served as Vice President, President Elect, and President for our Southwest Region Board. Margaret is currently in her 26th year of full time public education and is proud to say she has followed her parent’s footsteps as a MSTA member each one of those years.
