Melba Newsome

Melba Newsome is a veteran freelance journalist with more than 20 years of experience reporting on news and general interest topics. She is a 2020 Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting grantee to conduct in-depth reporting on COVID-19 in the Black Community. As a Reynolds Journalism Institute fellow, she is creating a diversity training program to help newsrooms make their reporting more reflective of the communities they serve. She was a 2020 Education Writers Association Fellow.
