Paul Loeffler 2022
Board Vice Chair and Facilities Chair
French American International School
Paul Loeffler began serving as a member of the French American / International High School (IHS) Board of Trustees in 2013 after completing a year as a non-trustee member of the board’s Facilities Committee.
Currently one of two board vice-chairs — in addition to leading the Facilities Committee — Paul has been integrally involved in the development and design of IHS’s new, purpose-built 80,000 sq ft academic facility; which is expected to open in 2025. On behalf of French American / IHS, he leads the Board of NCIS (National Council for International Schools, the real estate holding organization for the French American and the Chinese American International Schools). Prior to his board involvement, he served as one of the Lower School co-chairs during the celebration of French American’s 50th Anniversary and spent seven years as a board member of the National AIDS Memorial in Golden Gate Park.
He is currently a consultant to the San Francisco based architectural firm TEF — with an emphasis on educational, cultural and performance facilities. Past projects include the home of SFJAZZ, the Wilsey Center for Opera and the restoration of the Palo Alto Art Center. Prior to his current area of practice, Paul spent more than ten years providing design and facilities support to professional services and financial institutions; including the investment banks Robertson Stephens and Montgomery Securities, the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers and the law firm Jones Day. Paul graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Environmental Design and is a 4th generation Northern California native.
Along with their son Joseph (IHS ’22) Paul and his husband Mike Sullivan live in the Cole Valley neighborhood of San Francisco.
