Russell Midori

Russell Midori is a news photographer and editor for WPIX Channel 11 in New York City and the president of Military Veterans in Journalism. He has produced conflict and security stories on the ground in Haiti, Iraq, India, Mexico, and Kurdistan and covered domestic civil unrest in Standing Rock, Dallas, Charlottesville, and Ferguson. He covered dozens of protests in New York in 2020 following the death of George Floyd, and has developed techniques to mitigate risks from protestors, soldiers, police, and criminal predators while filming and producing live television in the field.
