Sachelle Saunders is the morning anchor for a community-focused statewide cable news show in Wisconsin, Spectrum News 1. She’s an active NABJ member, currently serving as the VP of Broadcast for the Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter, and as co-chair of the Special Honors committee. Sachelle began her career as an anchor and reporter in her hometown Rockford, IL. She continued her news career in Milwaukee, eventually heading far south to Orlando, Florida where she was an anchor and reporter at the CBS affiliate. During Sachelle’s time in Florida you may have seen her on CNN covering hurricanes at Daytona Beach, or appearances she’s made on CBS Nightly News. After the Pulse Nightclub mass shooting, Sachelle won an Associated Press award for her compassionate coverage of the tragedy. Sachelle is a mother of three, an 11-year old-girl, 8-year-old boy, and 11-year-old bonus son. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
