Sakina Bowser is a producer at CBS News and its 24/7 digital streaming network CBSN. Three years after  graduating from Florida A&M University’s School of Journalism and Graphic Communication in 2008, she landed her first line producing job in Fayetteville, AR. She wasn’t there long, before she would return back to Florida working at WINK News in Fort Myers. There she was able to learn to hone her producing skills, learned the different between stacking a show and building a show. By the end of her contract, two of the three  morning shows she produced were number 1 in the market. By 2016, she took her talents to WTSP-TV. It was here where she found her confidence in her producing style and began winning awards for shows she produced. As a result, she was seen as one of the strongest producers on the morning show.  In 2020, she began her dream job at a network. Sakina has produced segments on the racial reckoning of the country, death penalty cases, Black women in sports, the NFL’s diversity struggles and the medical mistrust in Black and brown communities in regards to the coronavirus vaccine.
