Sylvie Martel

Sylvie Martel is the Dental Hygiene Advisor for the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board where she manages the educational component of the professional certification and quality improvement programs. Her role is to support the development of certification examinations and quality improvement assessments that are evidence-based, valid, defensible and meet the current national dental hygiene competencies. In addition, she is responsible for the training and support of Subject Matter Experts and Group Reviewers and for the validation of the French translation activities, and acts as a resource for all other committee members to ensure the objectives of the organization are met. Sylvie is also responsible for the assessment of educational credentials and other qualifications of internationally trained dental hygienists.
