Teresa Wiltz

Teresa Wiltz is a senior editor at POLITICO, where she is seated with the Magazine and serves as editor of The Recast. She also oversees politics coverage, especially on issues of race and identity as they intersect with politics and policy, a critical area of expansion for POLITICO. Her career has taken her from Pew Stateline, the Chicago Tribune, The Washington Post, The Root and Essence magazine. She was part of the Chicago Tribune’s metro news team that won the Grand Prize, Robert Kennedy Journalism Award for a series on murdered children in Chicago. That team also was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service. Teresa has lived in Guatemala and Mexico, and has also reported from Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Europe. She is the author of The Real America: The Tangled Roots of Race and Identity.
