Thomas is a Vancouver-based lawyer whose practice is focused almost entirely on professional self-regulation. Drawing from his experience as General Counsel and Deputy CEO for the AIBC, he has provided policy and external counsel advice to many B.C. regulators. This work includes discipline hearing prosecutions and hearing panel counsel. Thom also lectures and writes frequently in the areas of investigations, consent orders, hearing practice, governance, and bylaw and legislative drafting in professional self-regulation. He holds the Certified In-House Counsel of Canada designation and collaborates provincially and nationally with lawyers and executives on a variety of self-regulation issues.
