Tracie Potts — 2

Tracie Potts is a board member and inaugural Family Engagement Fellow with National PTA. She helped develop a transformative family engagement framework and created a family Engagement Advisory Team for her school district. Tracie served as a Council PTA officer and local PTA President, leading her school to become the district’s first National PTA School of Excellence. This year she was named the district’s “Champion for Children.”

As Maryland PTA’s Family and Community Engagement chair, Tracie pioneered weekly e-blasts and School of Excellence mentors. She received the Maryland and National PTA Lifetime Achievement Awards. In 2020 she was honored as the nation’s first featured “Learning Hero.

Tracie is a correspondent for NBC News. She works with her husband, a youth minister, to inspire young people. Their three children and two grandchildren are her motivation to train families to support learning, speak up for children and advocate for equity.
