A member of the Bar in Nova Scotia, Canada since 1988, Victoria Rees has held various leadership roles with the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society for over 30 years, and became Director of Professional Responsibility in 2001. In this role she manages complaints resolution, investigation and prosecution; ethics advice and education for lawyers; claims against the Compensation Fund; risk management respecting regulation, conduct and capacity matters; and has led significant regulatory reform on a local, national and international level. Victoria was instrumental in developing the NSBS’ Triple P and risk-focused approach to regulation, their Management System for Ethical Legal Practice, and is currently involved in the development of multi-disciplinary practices in NS. Victoria is now Counsel, Professional Regulation with Pink Larkin.
