Wayne Dawkins is an associate professor at Morgan State University School of Global Journalism and Communication in Baltimore. A longtime newspaper reporter and editor, he author of “The NABJ Story:” and “Rugged Waters: Black Journalists,” as well as “Black Voices in Commentary: The Trotter Group.” Dawkins is also author of “City Son: Andrew W Cooper’s Impact on Modern-Day Brooklyn,” a biography of the 1987 NABJ Journalist of the Year. Dawkins is a three-time Columbia University award recipient, including the Dean’s Medal for Public Service. This year he retired as founding editor/publisher of the BA Network [1980-present] and is editor emeritus.
