4% Bond Executions in the Current Market

20 Years Later: Challenges with Rehab

The renovation of an apartment building built in 2001 has shone new light on ways to make an original structure stand the test of time. Owned by the Housing Authority of the City of Aurora, the Connections at 6th Ave is an affordable, multifamily rehab project that overcame obstacles of ADA and Fair Housing requirements. Currently under construction and slated to finish in December 2020, this panel will share incites on how to delay rehab efforts as long as possible – thus saving the client time, money, and effort from resident displacement.

Private Activity Bonds (PAB) are necessary for many of the affordable housing developments in Colorado. Both CHFA and DOLA will provide updates on the current availability of PABs. Participants will learn where to start the process as well as discuss the various groups that can allocate PAB, what is being considered in future years, volume cap recycling and implication of new TEFRA regulation. Green Affordable Housing Design and CPACE Financing – The Intersection of Environmentally-Conscious Design and Creative Financing
Energy-efficient engineering and design is at the forefront of development in today’s environment, and certain elements are required for CHFA funding. CPACE (commercial property-assessed clean energy) is a national program adopted by state legislation to allow for financing from capital markets to fund energy-efficient and water conservation measures across all asset types, particularly multi-family. This panel will address CHFA energy efficiency requirements and how CPACE ties in with green design/engineering to help optimize and rehabilitate existing affordable housing projects as well as new development opportunities.
