Prepping & Priming to Make Virtual Events More Human – Join Us at our First-Ever Live Event in Matchbox Kitchen!

A look at how we joined forces with PropFuel to help Amazon’s CTA EMEA Team Day come to life.

The best dinner parties start with a personalized invitation, something that makes each guest feel special right from the beginning, but how do you do that at scale? How do you make each of 200+ guests feel special? You add a little PropFuel to the fire!

Join us at the Matchbox Kitchen Table – where every event is treated with the same care as a dinner party for your favorite guests – to talk about how a recipe for conversational engagement helped create interest, shape session design, and let us track session outcomes, all while giving each of 200+ attendees what felt like a custom experience.

Chef Mishka talks with PropFuel Co-Founder & CEO Dave Will and Matchbox Chief Innovation Officer Tim Parsons in our inaugural Matchbox Kitchen Table. We’ll cover the creative brief for the meal, the unique challenge, and how we leveraged PropFuel’s “Registrant Soup” recipe to prep and prime the Team Day event!

The Story

When Amazon’s Consumer Talent Acquisition Team came to us looking for a top-notch “community building and celebration” event design for their team of over 200 Talent Acquisition professionals from across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, we knew this couldn’t be a grab-n-go snack. Our first step was to craft a full, multi-course menu filled top-to-bottom, invite-to-takeaway with our most innovative session “recipes,” starting, naturally, with the invitations.

The Goal

Amazon’s main goal for CTA EMEA Team Day was to build connections between a dispersed and remote community of employees.

This is a goal we at Matchbox continually strive to achieve among our own fully-remote team members, and one that we take pride in our ability to execute on. Sooo, easy peasy, right?

Not necessarily. Our team is numbered at well under 100 employees. Amazon’s CTA team consists of over 200 people across multiple time zones and countries, who all deserve to feel like their voice matters and their participation is important.

So how did we achieve just that?

With a little help from our friends at PropFuel, conversational engagement platform and co-chef of our partnered Registrant Soup recipe.

PropFuel is a fabulous tool which we have used before to turn mass email campaigns into more personal, authentic conversation with our Incubator community. We knew PropFuel would be the perfect way to host pre-event communications, otherwise known as the “appetizer.”

This is where you come in…

Now, just over a month after a successful CTA EMEA Team Day equipped with a collection of pre-event and post-event PropFuel communication magic alongside expert Matchbox event design, the brains behind the operation are coming together for our very first live event in our Matchbox Kitchen:

Prepping & Priming for Conference Engagement

What Associations can learn from Amazon’s EMEA Talent Acquisition Team Day

So grab your chef hat, take a seat at our virtual dinner table, and make sure you arrive on an empty stomach*, because we’ve got some valuable takeaways for you to munch on!

*Metaphorically speaking, of course. Please do prepare some literal lunch beforehand.

Oh, you’ve never heard of the Matchbox Kitchen?

Our Kitchen is an enticing, inviting virtual space housed on Matchbox’s very own event platform. The space was created as a collaborative, creative space designed to spark innovation and encourage co-creation. In our Main Kitchen, we display a collection of over a dozen step-by-step guides to hosting organized and successful virtual sessions which we call “recipes”. Up until now, the Kitchen has served solely as an asynchronous catalog of sorts, open for perusal at any time. This event will be the first synchronous experience in the Kitchen, where participants convene at a specific time for a creative venture. We’re makin’ history, people! You won’t want to miss it!
