Barb Alber

Mrs. Barb Alber is a seventh and eighth-grade math teacher in the Shelby County R-IV School District. Barb’s just completed her 22nd year in the classroom, with the past four being at South Shelby Middle School. She took a leap of faith four years ago when transferring to middle school, and she is glad she did! Barb loves teaching math, and she believes it is an amazing sight when students “flip the switch,” and the light of understanding dawns on them. She has been a member of MSTA for the past seven years and is currently the South Shelby CTA Vice-President. Barb lives in Shelbina with her husband, Otto, and her Biewer Terrier, Yukon. Their son, Matt, lives in Story City, Iowa, and works for USDA-Animal Research Services in Ames. Barb loves to read, organize, and spend quality time with family and friends.
